Stryfe X Flared Magwell Mod
The Stryfe X is Hasbro's entry into high powered foam flinging, and it was a nice start. However, the magwell shape and proprietary rails left a little to be desired, so I wanted to fix that.
The goal of this kit was threefold: First, I wanted to add a flared magwell to make reloading smoother. Second, I wanted to be able to release the magazine using my main hand. This kit adds a magazine release lever behind the magwell, kind of like how the original Stryfe had, so you do not have to use your off hand to hit the release when changing magazines. Don't worry, it still retains that function. Third, I wanted to convert the rails to picatinny. Best of all, this mod kit requires NO disassembly to work.
There are two variants.
Talon variant features nice sloped feed lips leading to the mag well for a smooth reload.
Universal variant had to have a more open shape to allow the Stryfe X's magazine's mid section brim to fit, meaning the reload is going to be less smooth since there had to be more material cut away. However that means it has more compatibility with other potential types of magazines.
Hardware required is included.
